Amazon S3

To add Amazon S3 as a cloud Target:

  1. Get AWS User Security Credentials
  2. Add Credentials
  3. Add Target

Get AWS User Security Credentials

  1. Log into the AWS IAM console.
  2. On the left of the page, click Users and select an IAM user with full access to the Target Amazon S3 Bucket. Select an IAM user in the AWS IAM console with access to the Amazon S3 Buckets to scan.
  3. On the User page, click on the Security Credentials tab. The tab displays the user's existing Access Keys. Security Credentials tab in AWS IAM console displaying a user's existing access keys.
  4. Click Create Access Key. A dialog box appears, displaying a new set of User security credentials. This consists of an Access Key ID and a Secret Access Key.
  5. Click Download Credentials to save the User security credentials in a secure location, or write it down in a safe place. You cannot access this set of credentials once the dialog box is closed. Click "Download Credentials" in the Create Access Key window in AWS IAM console.

Add Credentials

  1. In the main menu, click on No usernames or passwords.

    Click "No usernames or passwords" to add credentials for an Amazon S3 Target in the Card Recon dashboard.

  2. In the Search target credentials dialog box, click + Add and select one of the following:

    • (Recommended) Amazon S3 (HTTPS)
    • Amazon S3 (HTTP)
  3. Fill in the following fields:
  4. (Optional) Under Encrypt credentials enter a master password to encrypt stored credentials.

    Credentials are only saved if:
  5. Click Ok.

Add Target

  1. In the main menu, click on Search all local files.

    Click "Search all local files" to bring up "Search targets" dialog box to add an Amazon S3 Target in Card Recon.

  2. In the Search targets dialog box, click + Add and select Cloud Storage.

  3. Select one of the following and click + to expand the selection:
    • (Recommended) Amazon S3 (SSL) Bucket

    • Amazon S3 Bucket

  4. In the Add S3 storage bucket field, enter the Bucket name.
  5. Press Enter to add the specified Amazon S3 Bucket as a Target.
  6. (Optional) Click + to expand the added Target and select specific objects to scan.
  7. Click Select and then Ok to finish adding the Amazon S3 Target.
